This week marks my third year with my company! On one hand, it seems like forever, but on the other, I feel like I've just started.
I feel really lucky and blessed in that I have a job that I love. For the most part, every day is different. There are so many different areas of concentration in my position that I am able to work on many different things all at once. Take this week for example. I've travelled to several of our partner offices, worked on a website, submitted two magazine articles, worked on a commercial and a TV show, had multiple conference calls, budget planned for our next fiscal year, drafted plans for two events (I have 5 major events between now and April 30!) and even shopped for new furniture.
In this economy I feel so lucky to not only love what I do but also do what I love!

Back to Work I Go
Today is my first day back to work after being off since December 23rd! To be honest, I am glad the routine is back. After a few days off, I tend to get some semblance of cabin fever. That is not to say that I don't enjoy being off or taking a vacation. I do very much! But I do crave routine and too many days of not having definite plans and nothing I really have to do drives me crazy.
So today I'm back at work. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in this morning and saw my clean office after forgetting I totally reorganized and cleaned it during my last few days at work in 2010. (See what too much vacation does to my brain.)
This week, I'm diving in head first with several work-related meetings, planning an event that has been scheduled at the last minute for January 19th (!) (please don't remind me that it's a mere 15 days away!), an organizational meeting for a heart ball fundraiser that I've been asked to help plan, and a Junior League meeting.
This year is also shaping up to be a busy one at work, or so it seems judging by the brief staff meeting we had this morning.
Away from work, I'm excited about the week for a somewhat ridiculous reason - it's time for the New Year's Goals to start. I get so excited about goals and meeting them, it's crazy!
I have a good feeling about this year! 2011 is going to be the best year yet!
